Bernadette Inez O'Brian Schwartz is back, and going to camp...

Bernadette finally has her new Puppy, Pretzel, which means that she gets to do one of her favourite activities: research! She learns that the best way to train a dog is to give it a reward, and that you aren't supposed to feed dogs chocolate or grapes (even as a reward!). When Bernadette and the other girls in the Lunch Bunch go off to camp, they meet a very different kind of animal - the frogs in the local pond. When the frogs start disappearing, it's an environmental mystery that the camp counsellors can't solve … and the perfect chance for Bernadette to use her love of science to come to the rescue of her slimy new friends!
