Marketing and Promotions Coordinator
Second Story Press, an award-winning publisher of feminist-inspired books for adults and young readers, is hiring a full-time Marketing & Promotions Coordinator. Our office is located downtown near Queen & Bathurst. Our ideal candidate will appreciate working in a small office with a collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Organizing, updating, and maintaining the company’s website and social media presence, including monitoring and analyzing metrics
Bibliographic metadata creation, maintenance, and distribution
Digital marketing initiatives, such as e-newsletters, NetGalley, Edelweiss etc.
Assisting the Marketing & Promotions Manager with marketing plans and publicity for forthcoming titles as well as recent releases
Assisting with event planning such as book launches, festivals, Word on the Street, etc.
Assisting with and attending trade shows, conferences, and display days (some travel, including to US, required).
Assisting the Marketing & Promotions Manager with preparations for our sales conferences, including liaising with distributed publishers
Assisting the Marketing & Promotions Manager with grant applications, report writing, and project execution
Managing review copy and catalogue mailings
Managing e-book promotions
Managing awards submissions
University graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience
Publishing certificate/course work
At least one year of experience working in book publishing
Experience with Bibliographic Metadata
Experience monitoring and analyzing website and social media metrics
Project Management experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Adobe software. Adobe InDesign a plus.
Experience with any or all of the following would be an asset (and should be indicated in cover letter): Biblioshare, BNC Catalist, Bookmanager, Edelweiss, CoreSource, NetGalley, MailChimp, Website CMS work, and graphic design experience for web and social media
