When Pia Keyne, a feisty political reporter, becomes entertainment editor at a large urban newspaper she finds herself embroiled in the vicious murder of a high-profile politician. Pia quickly uncovers sexual overtones to the killing, as well as a possible cover-up of Nazi stolen art. The ink might just run red when Pia’s involvement draws the attention of the murderer. And will she be putting her life at risk? Or just her heart… What starts out as a simple headline story quickly turns into something more dangerous. Having spent years trying to overcome the painful secrets of her own past, Pia Keyne must now choose who to trust, who to love, and who to track down as a possible source – for her story, and for murder.

Praise & Recognition

“Now, at last, this city has its own home-grown murder and mayhem novel. A new book by a former Queen’s Park journalist brings murder and political intrigue to the hallowed halls of the provincial legislature.”

The Toronto Sun

Headline: Murder is skilfully plotted and well-written, a who’ll-get-it-next, with edgy pacing and believable dialogue.”

The Hamilton Spectator

“It’s the Higgins Clark sort of character who comes pleasantly to mind in reading Headline: Murder."

The Toronto Star

Headline: Murder is sinfully frothy... Think of Keyne as a contemporary, post-feminist version of the stereotypical 1940s male detective with a bottle of rye in his desk drawer and a bevy of sexy dames knocking at his door.”

Ottawa Citizen

“The former press gallery reporter has set the homicide central to her first novel — Headline: Murder — in the legislative building. Standing as it does on the site of a former asylum, containing no end of creaking nooks and crannies and legends about ghosts, the hulking old hothouse of ambition, delusion and intrigue is an ideal venue for fictional homicide.”

The Toronto Star

“There’s good writing and lots of snappy dialogue... What's right is Lindgren's setting. She knows Queen's Park well, so it's perfect that the murder victim is a politician."
