Michelle McColm (her adoptive name) worked in adoption discloser at a Children's Aid Society and became familiar with the stories of adoptees and birth mothers alike. An adoptee herself, she has successfully navigated her way through a reunion with her birth mother and extended family. Since then, Zoe Kessler, (as she is now known) is a freelance journalist with her work appearing in major newspapers and magazines across Canada. She is also a blogger for "The Huffington Post" and "Psych Central." She now lives in Toronto.
