Her first book But Hope is Longer: Navigating the Country of Breast Cancer was published in 2012. The Warmest Blanket in the World is her first book for children.

Retired from her job in labour education, Tamara is now a grandmother with a passion for memoir writing. She lives in Ottawa with her family.

Ellie Arscott has illustrated several children’s books including Auntie’s Rez Surprise and The Warmest Blanket in the World. Her illustration debut, Night Walk (Groundwood Books), was awarded the SCBWI Canada East Crystal Kite award. Ellie lives in east end Toronto with her family and two kittens.
